Problem
The clients main database for products (Bonds) had a web interface which displayed one bond at a time.
Users wanting to analyse dozens of bonds queried each bond separately, copying values they wanted to Excel individually.
Solution
The database could be queried via a REST API, so the solution was an Excel Add-In which allowed users to enter or select (from a spreadsheet) as many bonds as they needed.
A single mouse-click collated all the data and imported it to Excel.
From the list of over 100 attributes, analysts could create custom lists of ‘favourite’ fields so they could quickly import data required for specific reports.
One analyst stated it saved him several hours a day.
