Problem

For the government First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) scheme, this bank required a tool to manage home builder payments. The solution needed to provide:

  • fast & accurate data entry,
  • separation of duties; those who enter payments can’t authorise them.

Solution

Data is now a central database and while users interact with data via screens displayed by an Excel Add-In
Excel serves only as an interface (via screens) to the database and as a reporting medium.
Tasks such as entering claim details and authorising payment were segregated to minimize fraud.
Daily, Weekly & Monthly management reports were generated to monitor payments.
