Problem
The client received a list of trades via email which had to be reconciled with existing stock of trades to determine what assets to buy and sell.
The process was time consuming, complex & required specialised knowledge.
Solution
The proposed trades were extracted from the email and loaded into Excel.
The business rules to determine what to buy and sell were codified into a set of consist, iterative rules.
These then automatically generated valid trade instructions which were submitted to the trade booking system (called ‘Charles River’).
This lengthy and error prone process was automated to produce consistent results in seconds.
